U.S. Center Locations. The ELS TOEFL® Prep elective course
consists of up to 3 modules designed to help students obtain a
high score on the TOEFL® test and to learn the general English
skills necessary for success in university studies. Through the
Intensive English Program and the ELS TOEFL® Prep elective course
students will learn TOEFL® test-taking strategies.
As part of the Intensive Program* students participate in:
25 lessons per week of general English skills (Structure/Speaking
Practice, Reading and Writing), and

(Listening, Structure, Reading, and Essay). They learn how the
computer-based version of the test is structured, how to better
understand the test directions and how to use time management
skills for the test (for example, a student will learn how to
identify which sections to work quickly through and which need
more time).
Outside of class, students are encouraged to take advantage of the
additional practice time for the TOEFL® during our weekly 2-Hour
Bonus session in our Multi-Media Labs.

for International Communication)Test for assistance in making
decisions on hiring, job placement, promotions and placement in
job-training programs. To be successful, you need to be fluent in

This course—consisting of three modules—will give you progressive
preparation for the TOEIC® test. While studying in The ELS
Language Centers’ Intensive English Program, you will acquire
general English skills necessary for success in any
English-speaking environment. By building on these skills, the
