ELS/Santa Barbara is located in downtown Santa Barbara, a friendly town on the scenic Southern California coast that boasts a Mediterranean ambiance and lively college-town spirit. ELS students may take advantage of several unique opportunities at the nearby Brooks Institute of Photography or Santa Barbara City College (SBCC).

Known as the “American Riviera”, Santa Barbara is famous for its idyllic climate, Spanish-inspired architecture, and breathtaking mix of mountains, valleys and beaches.
Santa Barbara is one of the safest and most affluent cities in California and offers excellent public transportation.
Many students enjoy the excitement and entertainment of nearby Los Angeles, including Disneyland®, Universal Studios®, Beverly Hills and Hollywood.
The Brooks Institute of Photography, with degree programs including Professional Photography and Visual Journalism, accepts ELS Level 109 in place of TOEFL for admission.
SBCC, with transfer programs that provide the first two years of study toward an undergraduate degree at one of many California colleges and universities, conditionally accepts ELS Level 109 in place of TOEFL for admission.
